Thursday, December 17th, 2020 -- 9:02 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) Members of the Midwest Forage Association have the opportunity to vote for one of three Wisconsin crop producers to sit on the group's board of directors.

According to Wisconsin Ag Connection, incumbent board member John Ruedinger of Van Dyne is being challenged by Shane Goplin from Osseo and Dan Costello of Fond du Lac.  Ruedinger operates a 1,500-cow dairy farm in Fond du Lac County and grows 1,550 acres of corn and alfalfa. Costello is also a dairy producer on a 1,250-cow dairy and grows 2,500 acres of crop, and Goplin farms 3,200 acres in west central Wisconsin.

Meanwhile, Chippewa County Extension Agent Jerry Clark's name is on the ballot, where he is running to retain his position as the University of Wisconsin representative. And Matt Akins of Marshfield is running for an ex-officio position.  Ballots are due to the MFA office in St. Paul, Minnesota, by January 11.
