Neillsville School Board Approves January Operational Plan and Revised Calendar

-The Neillsville School Board approved the January operational plan and revised calendar as presented.

The board also approved budget modifications for 2020-2021 as presented, approved the early graduation request, and they heard a presentation about the Redefining Ready! program for grades 6-12.  The board also approved the Memorandum of Understanding with the Clark County Health Department as presented.

The board also approved some donations.  The board approved the donation of 150 cloth masks from Matt and Amy Zoschke and approved the donation of a variety of craft items, books, and coloring sheets to the school library from the CART Center.  The board also approved the hiring of Michelle Rowell for the teaching assistant position and approved the resignation of Kenneth Friemoth as the assistant wrestling coach.

Finally, the board heard the Administrators’ Reports.  Elementary Principal Marcy Kunze reported on attendance, remote learners, and winter concert recordings.  Middle School Principal Kory Poeschel reported on attendance, remote learners, gratitude tree, December service project, chorus solo & ensemble festival, youth mental health first aid training, and Christmas stories being read on WCCN and recorded for elementary students.

High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance, remote learners, update from the guidance office, and scheduling for the 2021-2022 school year.  And District Administrator John Gaier reported on COVID-19 quarantining updates, a letter from Cummins Filtration, Assembly GOP proposed response to COVID-19, WIAA Executive Director Retirement, and the receipt of a COVID-19 relief grant.
