(Tom Schumacher, WSAU) Marshfield Clinic Health System will be laying off around 3% of its workforce in 2024, according to Tom Schumacher with WSAU.

According to an email sent by Marshfield Clinic Health System to personnel, the layoffs are being made to help the organization “achieve financial turnaround goals.” The majority of the layoffs are in non-patient-seeing departments, including leadership positions. The organization stated that the decision was made after a comprehensive review of its service and labor resources.

This decision comes only a matter of weeks after high-level leaders within the Marshfield Clinic Health System will be taking pay cuts in 2024 to help stabilize the healthcare provider’s finances and end merger talks between Marshfield Clinic Health System and Duluth, Minnesota-based Essentia Health.
