Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson Says Tie Ukraine Aid to Southern Border Crossings

(Bob Hague, WRN) US Senator Ron Johnson says he wants any aid to Ukraine tied to southern border crossing benchmarks.

The Wisconsin Republican tells the Journal Sentinel he wants the US to release funding to Ukraine on a monthly basis and only if the US government can meet metrics showing a decrease in illegal border crossings.

Johnson said if the Biden administration fails to meet a benchmark a tranche of funding for Ukraine would be withheld. In an interview with the Journal Sentinel Johnson called the Biden administration “lawless” and claimed President Biden actually once an open border.
