(Ted Ehlen, WRN) Reducing food waste in Wisconsin.
That’s the focus of a proposed bill in the Wisconsin legislature. The measure would give excess food to those in the state who need it, and would lower the amount of food thrown away in the state, which the Department of Natural Resources estimated at over 850,000 tons in 2020, with most of it still edible.
The bill would provide $200,000 to groups for the initiation of food waste reduction projects in Wisconsin.
