After Initial Delay, Granite Peak Expected to Open this Friday

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A delayed opening for the new season at Granite Peak is scheduled for later this week.

According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, six runs and three lifts will start rolling Friday at 9 AM at the ski resort. General Manager Greg Fisher credits cold, dry air with allowing them to throw snowmaking operations into overdrive- and a dedicated staff that has been running the snow guns since late last week despite the holiday.

Fisher and the rest of the staff at Granite Peak had originally planned to open just before the Thanksgiving holiday, but a spell of warm weather right around Halloween and into early November put a halt to those plans.
