Wausau Man Sentenced for Fleeing an Officer

A Wausau man entered a plea and was sentenced for fleeing an officer and possession in Marathon County Court on Monday.

Trenton McCorkle, of Wausau, was charged with possessing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and with being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The indictment alleges that on December 14, 2021, he possessed 50 grams or more of methamphetamine for distribution and a loaded .45 caliber handgun and ammunition.

On Monday, McCorkle was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, vehicle operator fleeing/eluding an officer. A possession charge was dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison and 2 years of extended supervision.
