(Raymond Neuepert, WRN) Universities of Wisconsin is once again appealing to the Legislature to fund programming and increase enrollment in key programs.
President Jay Rothman released a 32 million dollar proposal on Monday that boosts programming and staff in the system's nursing, business, finance and engineering schools. Rothman said the funding would help the state graduate over 9 thousand new students over the next five years.
His proposal matches a 32 million dollar cut that's pending from the approved state budget, as Democratic Governor Tony Evers and Republican leadership in the Legislature spar over funding for the Universities. Republicans want the school to end its diversity and inclusion programs.
