Wood County Sheriff’s Department Responds to Two Vehicle Accident

Monday, November 6th, 2023 -- 4:00 PM

On November 4th, at approximately 7:08 p.m., the Wood County Sheriff's Department responded to a two vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of State Highway 73 and County Highway U in the Township of Saratoga.

Initial investigation shows that a vehicle traveling eastbound on State Highway 73 was attempting to turn northbound onto County Highway U when it was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on State Highway 73.

The collision caused the eastbound vehicle to overturn onto its roof. Both occupants of the westbound vehicle were transported to the Marshfield Medical Center with injuries.  State Highway 73 was closed for approximately five hours.

This crash remains under investigation by the Wood County Sheriff's Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol. The individuals involved include 74-year-old William Ehr of Wild Rose, 69-year-old Sharon Ehr of Wild Rose, and 26-year-old Deven Felber of Necedah.

The Wood County Sheriff's Department was assisted on scene by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Town of Rome Police, Town of Grand Rapids Police, Wood County Sheriff's Rescue, Wisconsin Rapids Ambulance, UW-Med Flight, Town of Rome Fire Department, Township of Saratoga First Responders, Life Star Ambulance, and Wood County Highway Department.
