Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services Announces Faster Licensing of Pharmacy School Graduates

(Bob Hague, WRN) Wisconsin pharmacy school graduates have a shorter path to licensing.

The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services has reached an agreement with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy that will lead to faster licensing of Wisconsin pharmacy school graduates.

Currently, graduates must send proof of graduation to Wisconsin DSPS, which then notifies NABP, which is responsible for post-graduate competency testing. Now students may send proof directly to the national board, removing a step and speeding up the licensing process.

The news comes as pharmacists at some Walgreens and CVS locations have staged walkouts. They want the national chains to hire more pharmacists in order to ease workloads.
