Neillsville School Board Approves Several Items for the Start of the New School Year

The Neillsville School Board heard a couple updates at their meeting on Monday.

The board had a discussion regarding homecoming plans and Lance Gregorich from CESA 10, and Building and Grounds Director Mark Spencer, presented a building projects update. The Board approved the use of space agreement with Clark County Community Services as presented and with Children’s Wisconsin.

The Board also approved the revised Crisis Response Plan with modifications as presented. The Board approved eight regular, one special needs, and three noon bus routes for 2023-2024 as presented.

The Board also approved the out-of-state field trip request from FFA to Indianapolis, Indiana, from October 30th to November 4th, the WAEF membership for 2023-2024 as presented, the offer versus serve contract for food service for the 2023-2024 school year as presented, the Wisconsin Morning Milk Program as presented, the Federal Milk Program as presented, and a donation of school supplies from Sandy Egstad as presented.

In employment matters, the Board approved, as presented, the resignation of Rhonda Pernsteiner from her custodial position and Donald Wiesner from his food service assistant position.

The Board approved, as presented, the hiring of Melanie Mitchell, with stipulations, for the food service kitchen lead position, Penelope Wesbrook for the food service assistant position, Pamela Eibergen for the food service assistant position, and Tasha Hoth for the teaching assistant position. The Board also approved the wage scale update as presented.

Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on:

  • A thank you note;
  • The 2023 annual meeting agenda;
  • WASB Regional Meeting;
  • Safe Routes to School funding program;
  • Twitter social media platform change;
  • Neillsville Improvement Corporation agenda;
  • And the August 28th special meeting.
