(Ted Ehlen, WRN) A woman convicted in the Slender Man stabbing case has withdrawn a request to be released from a mental institution.
In May, an attorney for Morgan Geyser filed a petition for conditional release. Tuesday, a withdrawal of that petition was accepted. Geyser’s attorney said in a statement his client “…continues to make substantial progress in treatment and should be ready for release next year."
Geyser and Anissa Weier pleaded guilty to attempted homicide charges in the 2014 stabbing of Peyton Leutner in a Waukesha park. Leutner barely survived the attack. Both Geyser and Weier were sent to a psychiatric facility. Weier was granted a conditional release in 2021.
