Director of Clinic Services at Black River Memorial Hospital Receives Rural Health Ambassador Award

Angie Marciulionis, Director of Clinic Services at Black River Memorial Hospital (BRMH) was recently presented the Rural Health Ambassador Award on behalf of The Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative (RWHC).

The Rural Health Ambassador Award, established in 2004, is dedicated to recognizing individuals who have gone above and beyond contributing to rural healthcare. RWHC promotes that an ideal candidate demonstrates a history of fostering positive communications and relations within the hospital’s service area and beyond.

Nominees must be involved in community activities and dedicated to strengthening rural health within their community. Recipients must demonstrate a positive attitude and demeanor when interacting with patients, coworkers, and other community members.

Before assuming her current position, overseeing the Wound Care Center, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the Black River Healthcare Clinic (BRHC), Marciulionis served as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse for 11 years.

Over the years, Marciulionis played a key role in completing numerous initiatives aimed at advancing the overall health and well-being of the community. Recently, she was instrumental in leading the BRHC’s efforts to achieve Rural Health Clinic Status, which was vital to ensure local care offerings are provided sustainably.
