Wausau-area Man Has Three Active OWI Cases Against Him

Sunday, August 13th, 2023 -- 7:09 AM

According to Michael Leischner of WSAU, the first came on May 5th when 37-year-old Mark Bryant Calmes was pulled over on suspicion of an OWI with children in the vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a 500 dollar signature bond and released a few days later.

Then in June he found himself jailed again for another incident, and again was released on a signature bond- this time worth two thousand dollar.

Then last Thursday A state patrol officer pulled him over for a littering violation in Wausau and noticed signs of impairment- leading to a failed field sobriety test and yet another arrest on suspicion of OWI. Once again there were children in the vehicle, who were released to another family member.

Calmes is due back in court this fall on the first two charges- as of Saturday no court action was scheduled on the most recent one.
