(Raymond Neupert, WRN) Congressman Mike Gallagher wants greater American military presence in the Pacific.

Wisconsin Congressman Mike Gallagher says the U.S. military needs to undo equity changes. Speaking at an event in Iowa last week, the Green Bay Republican Gallagher said efforts to increase diversity are detrimental to the armed forces. "But we are taking steps to dismantle the DEI bureaucracy in the military, which is not only incredibly divisive, and I think adversely impacts our ability to recruit."

Gallagher claimed the Biden Administration isn't taking a hard enough stance against China. "Now that we are no longer bound by certain treaties that prevent us from deploying key rockets and munitions and missile systems, we need to take advantage of that in order to surge hard power to the Indo Pacific before it's too late."

Gallagher said the weak American presence in Europe allowed Russia to invade Ukraine. "We pulled all of our hard power preemptively out of Ukraine. We sent our ships sailing out of the Black Sea, and in so doing, we sent a stronger signal than anything the State Department said in a mean tweet to Vladimir Putin."

Gallagher wants the US Navy to move more ships closer to China to prevent a possible invasion of Taiwan. He spoke at an event in Iowa last week.
