(Raymond Neupert, WRN) The Wisconsin state patrol will be getting more doses of Narcan to help recover victims of opioid overdoses.

The Wisconsin state patrol will be getting more doses of Narcan to help recover victims of opioid overdoses. State attorney general Josh Kaul says the funding is coming from lawsuits against drug manufacturers. "We filed suit against Purdue pharma, we also joined multi state investigations into opioid distributors."

Kaul says over 750 million dollars has come to Wisconsin as part of those settlements. "Wherever that dollar amount ends up, we're talking about major resources that can transform our response to this epidemic."

Over 30 thousand doses of Narcan will now be available to officers. Narcan pulls people out of opioid overdoses safely so they can be treated at a hospital.
