Granton Village Board Hears Several Reports

The Granton Village Board heard several reports at their meeting.

According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the board heard the Water and Waste Water Reports. Several new meters were installed, Tonka took a media sample and results should be available next month, Lynn Dairy has purchased water from the Village, and a sewer backed up on Clark Street and caused damages in the basement of a resident’s home. 

The back up was repaired and the clerk contacted the insurance company.  Also, the fuel injector was replaced in a truck, they installed snow fence, and Christmas decorations were put up.  Finally, Well 5 and hydrant training are complete and next week is safety training in Plover. 

The board also heard an update from the Clerk.  The clerk presented 2020 Assessments just under $5,000, the levy was approved and submitted to the DOR, and the Clerk received the Levy from Midstate Tech, Granton School, and the County.  Also, the PC-202 TID report was completed and submitted to the DOR, the mill rate paperwork was completed and submitted and tax bills have been printed, statement of taxes needs to be submitted and then tax bills can be sent out, and the 2020 audit has begun and the initial info has been submitted.

Finally, the board heard the Treasurer’s Report.  The Deposit and Expense report was presented.  The Checking balance is $248,726.54 and includes shared revenue in the amount of $171,008.01. 

Also, the Money Market Reserve balance is $529,598.30, the Cemetery CD is $16,927.29, the CDBG balance is $32,388.80, and the Library balance is 30,321.26. 

The third Covid Grant was awarded in the amount of $1,531.94. This includes $604.56 in labor for processing absentee ballots.  Federal, State and WRS payments have also been made.
