City of Neillsville Continuing Flushing Program this Week

The City of Neillsville will be continuing the annual flushing program to clear out minerals that have accumulated in the city’s water mains. 

The flushing is accomplished by opening fire hydrants.  This flushing is necessary to improve water quality and maintain the integrity of the distribution system, which is mandated by the Wisconsin DNR. Flushing will be continue today through this Friday, July 21st from 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

If the water appears discolored, do not be alarmed.  After waiting, run your cold water for about 5 minutes to verify the water has cleared.  If water does not clear, or if you have any questions, please call the Water Department at 743-3991.
