Neillsville School Board Approves Handbooks, Memberships, Depositories, and More

The Neillsville School Board approved several handbooks at their meeting on Monday.

The Board approved, as presented, the 2023-2024 Employee Handbook, the Elementary School Student & Parent Handbook with modifications, the Middle School Student & Parent Handbook with modifications, and the 2023-2024 High School Student & Parent Handbook with modifications.

The Board also approved the 2023-2024 academic standards and educational options as presented and the 2023-2024 WIRSA membership renewal as presented. The Board also approved the Achievement Gap Reduction report as presented and approved setting a temporary Fund 10 budget for the 2023-2024 school year of $13,200,000.

The Board also approved setting Citizens State Bank, Associated Bank, Unity Bank, and Simplicity Credit Union as the official depositories for the 2023-2024 school year as presented. The Board also approved authorizing District Administrator John Gaier to make investments for the 2023-2024 school year, approved the 2023-2024 WIAA membership renewal as presented, and approved the donation from the booster club for a total of $891.

In employment matters, the Board approved, as presented, the resignation of Tucker Bethea from his teaching assistant position, Ryan Guenther from his teaching assistant position, Mary Ellen Keller from her teaching assistant position, Bree Marciulionis from her teaching assistant position, Sandra Oldham from her teaching assistant position as presented, Kendie Friemoth from her high school softball coaching position, and Melissa Stockheimer from her high school softball coaching position.

The Board approved, as presented, the hiring of Courtney Becker for a teaching assistant position, Hailey Hainz for a teaching assistant position, Sydney Rall for the elementary teaching position, Michelle Hirsch for the elementary special education teaching position, Jeremy LaMont for the NHS advisor position, Kelsey Klein for the homecoming advisor position, and Paul Ziebell for the middle school football coach.

The Board also approved the letter of appointment request from Floyd Schoen as presented, approved the bus driver bonus as presented, and approved the revised high school counselor contract for Julia Backaus as presented. The Board also approved, as presented, the initial adoption of several policies including EF, EFA, EFB, EFC, EFC-A, EFC-B, EFC-C, EFE, and EFF.

Finally, the Board heard the Administrators’ Reports. High School Principal Craig Anderson provided a news release regarding a recent graduate and graduation-related information with a survey from area districts.
