One Person Killed in ATV Accident in Jackson County

One person was killed in an ATV crash in Jackson County Sunday.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, on June 11th, at 3:23pm, they received a report of an ATV crash on Rec Trail 9, near mile marker 7.5, located in the Township of Millston. Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies and Black River Falls Fire and Rescue personnel responded. The DNR assisted at the scene as well.

It was determined the rider, 65-year-old James Campbell of Black River Falls, had left the trail and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Department believes that speed, visibility, and a lack of safety equipment all contributed to this crash.
