The Clark County Sheriff’s Department has noticed the number of inadvertent 911 calls increase dramatically in 2023.

So far, for May, they've received 413 inadvertent 911 calls which averages out to 14 per day for the month. Overall in 2023, they received 1,418 inadvertent 911 calls. If you, or a family member, does make an inadvertent 911 call, don’t hang up. Emergency services must follow up with every call. They must determine that emergency services are not required. If they can’t do that, via phone, they must follow up in person.

Sheriff's Offices across the state have noted a sharp increase in in-advertent 911 calls including neighboring Jackson County. As a result, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office made an excellent video on the topic.
