The Black River Memorial Hospital (BRMH) Wound Care Center (WCC) recently received three honorable awards from their corporate partner, Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services with a network of over 600 centers.

The BRMH WCC, opened in 2020, was recognized in its first year of eligibility with the following awards:

  • 2022 Healogics® Center of Distinction,
  • 2022 Healogics® Robert A. Warriner,
  • lll Clinical Excellence,

And a traveling belt award two quarters in a row which recognizes very high comprehensive heal rates (the average healing rate for all patients treated at the center).

These awards recognized the BRMH WCC for achieving outstanding clinical outcomes, high patient satisfaction ratings, and impressive improvements in comprehensive healing rates, the highest of all 50 centers in the northwest division for quarter 4 2022. To receive three Healogics Awards for 2022 is an incredible accomplishment for the WCC team and one they are especially proud of.

“Our team is honored to receive these awards from Healogics”, expressed Heather Haun, DNP, FNP-C, one of the providers in the wound care clinic. “It is my hope that this recognition will increase the community’s awareness of the wound care services we provide here at BRMH. It breaks my heart when patients end up suffering due to having to manage their wounds at home. It is our goal to ensure as many patients as possible have access to local, high-quality wound care treatment.”

The BRMH WCC provides treatment for all types of wounds. No referral is needed to make an appointment. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the hospital’s main line at 715-284-5361.
