NO CITATION FOR SATURDAY AFTERNOON ACCIDENT IN NEILLSVILLE

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 -- 9:17 AM

A 91-year-old Neillsville woman will not be cited for her role in an accident Saturday in Neillsville.

According to police reports, the woman accidentally pushed the wrong pedal and pulled forward from her parallel parking stall on Hewett Street, "pinching" a woman who was standing in front of the vehicle. That woman is being treated at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield with severe injuries to her legs.

She is listed in critical condition as of this morning.

Police Chief Brad Lindner says a citation is usually issued to bring a motorist into compliance, but the elderly woman knows what she did was wrong.

The department may issue a driver behavioral report to the DMV, which could lead to her license being revoked.

Lindner says the woman already had restrictions on her driving, including a stipulation she not drive alone.
