Portage County Sheriff's Department Rescues Bobcat From a Vehicle

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) -The Portage County Sheriff's Office was called in to assist with the rescue of a bobcat that had somehow managed to get behind the front grill of a vehicle.

Sheriff Mike Lucas says three of his deputies teamed up with a Conservation Warden to help free the animal. Lucas posted the body camera footage to Facebook to prove the wild incident.

The team used a pole to help lure the cat out, then quickly flipped it into the covered bed of the warden's pickup. Lucas confirmed that the animal was returned to the wild, it's unclear how the cat got into the grill of the car to begin with.
