(Bob Hague, WRN) Wisconsin’s air quality has improved in some areas and gotten worse in others since last year’s “State of the Air” report from the American Lung Association.

The report issued Wednesday found that nationally nearly 120 million people, more than one in three, live in counties that had unhealthy levels of ozone or particle pollution. Racine County is the most ozone-polluted county in the southeast Wisconsin metro area and received a “F” grade for ozone pollution.

Milwaukee’s short-term particle pollution got worse in this year’s report, while Waukesha County was the most polluted county in the metro area for year-round levels of particle pollution. See the full report results at Lung.org/SOTA.
