Marshfield Area United Way Announces Recipients of Funds

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the success of our 2022 fundraising campaign, Marshfield Area United Way will invest over $600,000 in community programming over the next twelve months.

Of these funds, $525,000 will go to local health and human service organizations. Allocations to these programs were recently approved by United Way’s Board of Directors upon recommendations made by the Community Impact Committee. This committee is comprised of approximately twenty community volunteers formed into two review panels.

These panels reviewed program applications and interviewed agencies requesting funding to measure effectiveness and efficiency of the program, and to ensure the program aligns within United Way’s focus in the areas of education, financial stability, and health.

2023 Funded Programs include, for education:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters - $40,000;
  • BSA Samoset Council - $5000;
  • Chippewa Valley Boy Scouts - $3,000;
  • Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services - Family Resource Center - $36,500;
  • Memory Lane Farm - $36,000;
  • Pathway Partners - $10,000;
  • Spencer Kids Group - $12,500;
  • And UWSP at Marshfield Full Steam Ahead - $7,000.

For Financial Stability:

  • Child Caring Good Start Grants - $20,000;
  • North Central Community Action Outreach Services $45,000;
  • And Soup or Socks $35,000.

For health:

  • Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services - Child & Family Counseling - $63,500;
  • Home Delivered Meals and Scholarships- $44,000;
  • Marshfield Area Respite Care Center - $32,000;
  • Personal Development Center - $100,000;
  • School District of Marshfield Mental Health Consortium - $15,500;
  • And United Way’s 2-1-1 Program - $20,000.

Additionally United Way is investing more than $17,000 in Volunteer Center Projects. These projects include but are not limited to the Backpack and School Supply Drive, Reach Out and Read, and Right to Play for All.
