Five Below Expected to Open in Marshfield in Early June

(Jamie Rokus, Marshfield News Herald) As construction began recently at the site of Marshfield Mall to make way for three new retail stores, a sign popped up on security fencing surrounding the project announcing that a Five Below location would be "Coming Soon!" in "Spring 2023."

According to Jamie Rokus with the Marshfield News Herald, the company previously had announced a mid-summer opening for the location. So, when can Marshfield residents expect the much-anticipated retailer to open its doors?

A company spokesperson told the Marshfield News-Herald Tuesday the Five Below store is now planned to open in early June in the former Younkers space of the redeveloped mall.

According to its website, Five Below is the leading value retailer of "trend-right, high-quality products loved by tweens, teens and beyond." Most items in the store are priced between $1 and $5. Shoppers can find a variety of toys, games, gadgets, tech accessories, beauty supplies, arts and crafts, sports, home décor, household items, pet supplies, candy, snacks, books, party supplies and more.

Ned Brickman, president of Midland Management, the co-owner of the mall, told the News-Herald plans remain the same as those announced this summer for the mall redevelopment project, and the space will be ready this fall.

The redevelopment project will use the existing mall structure to create space for the retail stores, which will each have their own exterior entrances. Hobby Lobby confirmed to the News-Herald in February they would be moving into the Marshfield Mall and said they anticipate opening in early 2024.

Ross Dress for Less also told the News-Herald in February they have signed a lease for the Marshfield location, but it is too early to announce an opening date. Anchor stores Ashley Furniture, Kohl's and Harbor Freight will remain open.

World Buffet reopened April 1 in its new location across from Ashley Furniture.
