PLAYER IN RUDY HOMICIDE WILL LIKELY AVOID CHARGES

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007 -- 2:55 PM

It was one of the most gruesome crimes in Clark County history.

Shaun Rudy murdered his wife, Christine, and her unborn child and then dismembered the body, before throwing it into the Chippewa River.

While Rudy quickly pleaded no contest and was sentenced to two life prison terms, it now appears another person involved won't do any prison time.

WQOW-TV reports Chippewa County District Attorney Jon Theisen won't file criminal charges against Heather Teschler, who authorities believe helped dump Christine's body over a bridge.

Teschler served nine months in jail in Clark County for obstruction?a light sentence, the reward for testifying against Shaun Rudy.

Theisen says Teschler claims she was acting under threats from Rudy, and did not come forward out of fear for her safety.

Court records show Teschler and Shaun Rudy had a drug-fueled affair.

WQOW reports Rudy's family is meeting with Theisen today, hoping to change his mind.
