Former Weston Village Employee Accused of Mishandling Funds

Mike Leischner, WSAU) A former Weston village employee is accused of mishandling funds.

The village says Theresa Coleman, who worked as a utility clerk, was involved in the misappropriation of funds. They were made aware of some irregularities in mid-January, which prompted an internal investigation that showed Coleman had access to the funds in question. She was placed on leave, then fired two weeks later- and the village has turned over the results of the investigation to local police for possible charges.

Both Village leaders and Everest metro police say they can't comment further, and it's unclear how much money may have been take or mishandled- though police say they are looking at possible charges of misappropriation of funds and theft.
