Port Edwards Man Sentenced for 1984 Wood County Murder

A Port Edwards man found guilty of first-degree murder was sentenced in Wood County Court.

After an eight day jury trial, John Sarver was found guilty of first degree murder, regarding the death of 73-year-old Eleanore Roberts of Saratoga, that occurred on November 26th of 1984. Sarver was sentenced to life in prison.

However, Sarver can go before the Parole Board after 13 years and 4 months in prison, depending on him satisfying five requirements for the parole commissioner.
