Bond Set for Wausau Man Accused of Shooting Near Downtown Wausau

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) Bond has been set for a Wausau man accused of a shooting incident near downtown this week.

Brian Penny is being held on a 10 thousand dollar bond as set by Judge Lamont Jacobson. Investigators say he was drunk Wednesday morning when he pointed a gun at someone, then fired a shot in the air.

No one was injured and someone in the home did manage to call police, who were able to talk him out of the building. He did surrender peacefully. Investigators are recommending six charges against him including second degree recklessly endangering safety.

Should he bond out he's ordered to have no contact with the victim by any means and maintain absolute sobriety- A review hearing is set for next Wednesday.
