Jets from Madison's Truax Field Shoot Down Object Over Lake Huron

(Ted Ehlen, WRN) Wisconsin Air National Guard jets stationed at Madison’s Truax Field brought down an unidentified object flying over Lake Huron Sunday afternoon.
The Pentagon says President Biden directed the object, which was flying at around 20,000 feet, be shot down. Officials at NORAD say the object was detected on radar over Montana Saturday and over Michigan and Wisconsin Sunday.
The Federal Aviation Administration briefly closed some airspace Sunday morning over Lake Michigan to support Department of Defense activities. It’s the fourth time in a little over a week that U.S. fighter jets have taken down objects in North American airspace.
There's no word on whether the objects have any connection to China's surveillance balloon, or whether they conducted surveillance activities.
