ROGSTAD LOOKS TO CHANGE COUNTY GOVERNMENT
Wednesday, September 27th, 2006 -- 12:49 PM
A Greenwood area County Board Supervisor is hoping to change the organizational structure of Clark County government.Bob Rogstad has authored a resolution that, if passed by the County Board at their October meeting, would rescind a resolution passed in 1999 creating the position of Director of the Department of Administration.
According to Clark County?s website, that department ?works with the Board of Supervisors to provide consistent management of Clark County's budget, accounting, payroll, human resources, information technology and insurance programs.?
Barb Petkovsek serves as the Director of the Department of Administration.
In the ?whereas? section of Rogstad?s resolution, he states the Board adopted a resolution creating the position of director of the Department of Administration, but never adopted a resolution creating the Department.
The resolution says Petkovsek created the Department and the costs have become excessive and unaffordable.
If approved, the resolution would shift many of the duties of the Department of Administration to the County Clerk?s office.
