Winners of The Highground's ATV Raffle

After months of selling ATV raffle tickets (802 of the 1,500 ordered, to be exact), the day arrived for the winners' names to be drawn for The Highground's 4th Annual ATV Raffle Honoring our Veterans.

On Veterans Day, November 11th, the ceremony guest speaker, Jess, did the honor of pulling the three winning tickets from the basket. Marie Thayer of Wilton was thrilled to win the blue 2022 Polaris Sportsman 450 H.O. and arrived at The Highground in less than a week to pick it up.

Jenny Meacham of Greenwood was shocked to win the $1,000 second place prize and Tom Dolan, one of their very own "Porch Greeters" from Plover, took home the $500 third place prize.

This raffle is one of many fundraisers that helps The Highground carry out its mission to Honor, Educate and Heal our Veterans, their families and all who visit.

On behalf of all the participants The Highground's various Veterans programs are available to, The Highground staff along with this year's lucky winners are grateful to everyone who purchased tickets as a means to support The Highground’s ongoing mission.

The Highground, which includes over 15 tributes honoring Veterans from WWII to the Gulf War, offers Veterans, their families and all visitors a place of solitude for reflection on individual service, remembrance of those lost and a way for them to honor those who are still with us.

The Highground also strives to educate future generations on the sacrifices made in the name of freedom. Every day, staff members and volunteers hear stories about the invaluable difference these programs make on the lives that are in turmoil due to the invisible wounds of war.

Supporters are invited to keep an eye out in the coming months for information about the next annual ATV Raffle Honoring Our Veterans. Once tickets arrive at The Highground, they will be available for purchase up until the raffle drawing on Veterans Day, November 11, 2023.
