Wisconsin DOT Holding Public Involvement Regarding Culvert Replacement Project in Clark County

Monday, December 5th, 2022 -- 11:01 AM

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is holding a public involvement meeting to discuss a culvert replacement project on WIS 13 between Abbotsford and Dorchester on the Clark/Marathon County border.

The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at Abbotsford City Hall, 203 N. 1st St.; a presentation is planned for 5:10 p.m. The objective is to provide information on the project to the public and gather input.

Two culvert pipes on WIS 13 crossing Porky Creek are showing signs of deterioration and are reaching the end of their useful service lives. To address that, the project will replace the culvert structures, grade side slopes and pave the roadway.

Construction currently is scheduled to be completed in 2026. During construction, WIS 13 will remain open to traffic, but motorists can expect single-lane closures controlled by temporary signals at both culvert crossings.

Access to WIS 13 from the Willow Road/Wuertzburg Road intersection may be restricted, and access to properties will be maintained. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project.

Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Nathan Ulness, WisDOT project manager, at  (715) 836-3914 or [email protected] at least three working days prior to the meeting.
