(Wisconsin Ag Connection) Wisconsin received its first widespread snowfall of the season during the past week, which limited the amount of fall tillage and corn harvest that was able to be completed.

According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, that's according to this week's crop/weather report from the state's agriculture department, which stated topsoil moisture condition levels were rated two percent very short, 16 percent short, 75 percent adequate and seven percent surplus.

As of Sunday, farmers only had 77 percent of the corn for grain harvested. That's 12 days behind last year, but even with the five-year average. Moisture content of corn harvested for grain was 19 percent.

All but five percent of the winter wheat had emerged. Crop scouts rated the wheat as 83 percent good to excellent statewide. And fall tillage was 77 percent complete, which was three days behind last year.
