Clark County Board of Supervisors Approve County Budget and Tax Levy

The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved the 2023 County Budget and Levy.

The Board approved expenses of $96,740,328 and revenues of $68,736,876. They also approved the proposed fund balance of $7,389,561 to be applied to the levy and the total indebtedness as of December 31st of last year is $6,347,047.

The Board then approved the final levy of $20,613,891, giving the County a mil rate of $7.53 per thousand dollars of evaluation. The Board also approved a loan of $4,450,000 from Citizens State Bank of Loyal at 4% interest rate for road construction.

The Board also approved the application for the WIC grant and approved the county’s membership to the Wisconsin County’s Association for $6,436. The Board also approved the committed fund accounts, approved the Forestry and Parks Department’s 2023 Annual Work Plan, and a resolution supporting increased state funding for county child support funding.

The Board also approved the Community and Social Services contracts for the County and approved the personnel policies. The Board also approved several appointments including Sara Smith to replace Gary Janssen on the Board of Health.

They also reappointed Tom Bobrofsky and Roberta Pabich to the Clark County Library Committee. They also reappointed Tom Bobrofsky to the Wisconsin Valley Library Service. Finally, the reappointed Maryanne Olson and Virginia Kodl to the Housing Authority Committee.

There was one resolution that was not passed. The resolution would have had the County apply for a loan of $750,000 at 4% interest to purchase Apple Valley and remodel it for more office space.
