Neillsville School Board Approves Several Bids for District's Building Projects

The Neillsville School Board held a Special Board Meeting to approve several bids for the District’s continuing building projects.

Lance Gregorich from CESA 10, and Building and Grounds Director Mark Spencer, presented a list of bids for approval. The Board approved a bid from:

  • Complete Control for mechanicals in the amount of $1,206,000 as presented;
  • A bid from Van Ert Electric Company, Inc. for electrical in the amount of $520,000 as presented;
  • A bid from Staley Plumbing Heating Co. Inc. for plumbing in the amount of $50,650 as presented;
  • A bid from Complete Control for HVAC controls in the amount of $148,356 as presented;
  • A bid from Ryno's Masonry for masonry in the amount of $129,650 as presented;
  • A bid from Swanson Commercial Flooring for flooring in the amount of $244,450 as presented;
  • A bid from VerHalen, Inc. for acoustical ceilings in the amount of $163,893 as presented;
  • A bid from Midwest Millwork & Casework LLC for casework supply in the amount of $195,209 as presented;
  • A bid from Precision Glass and Door for window replacement in the amount of $74,100 as presented;
  • A bid from Pine Valley Painting & Finishing for painting in the amount of $71,700 as presented.
  • A bid from Dell Construction Company Inc. for general trades in the amount of $462,100 as presented;
  • A bid from Robinson Brothers Environmental Inc. for asbestos abatement in the amount of $247,000 as presented;
  • A bid from CESA 10 for environmental testing asbestos in the amount of $9,000 as presented.

The Board also approved the donation of a sign from JBC Screenprinting as presented. In employment matters, the board approved the resignation of Bryce DeSmet from his assistant golf coach position as presented.

The Board approved the hiring of Ashley Hoppe as a teaching assistant as presented and Shannon Funston as a teacher as presented. The Board also approved the Memorandum of Understanding for Chelsea Opelt as presented.

Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on:

  • A thank you card;
  • Web article regarding Tony Evers and Tim Michels major education issues;
  • Web article regarding universal school choice in Wisconsin;
  • Letter to the USDA Rural Development;
  • And 12 month support and confidential staff paid holidays.
