City of Marshfield Looking to Expand Efforts in Community Engagement

Monday, October 24th, 2022 -- 10:00 AM

The City of Marshfield is expanding efforts in community engagement with a new platform to help reach and increase public involvement and accessibility in a meaningful way.

Recently, the City initiated a platform, PublicInput, with American Rescue Plan Act funds to address the challenges of engaging stakeholders around a variety of projects, large and small, including ways to survey the public.

The City of Marshfield's Communications Director Tom Loucks is leading this full-service strategic and tactical communication solution supporting city-wide and department-led initiatives. The Communications Department is responsible for a holistic array of services supporting the City and the community at large.

Loucks said, "It's vital for us to seek and improve the effectiveness of our engagement processes by understanding the interplay between why a person may or may not engage, as well as how they engage has the power to dramatically impact engagement outcomes and our future growth."

Local residents have been signaling they have developed their own expectations for how they want to be connected with local government, according to City Administrator Steve Barg and said, "It's up to us to get us connected."

So, as they begin this journey, they are beginning with a basic survey about how residents want to receive public information from us. The survey is now available on the City's website, mobile app (Connect Marshfield), Facebook, and on our PublicInput platform.

Please take a moment to fill out the survey to help them kick-off this vital communication process, so they can work together to build a better community for tomorrow. PublicInput is the leading U.S. community engagement software company dedicated to building trust and facilitating lasting relationships between government and the public.

PublicInput has provided 1 in 10 Americans information and access to the public decision-making process by equipping governments with the technology needed to listen, communicate, and make informed decisions.
