Kreuser Op-ed Defends Evers' Response to Kenosha Riots

(Bob Hague, WRN) A former Democratic elected official is rebutting claims that Governor Tony Evers failed to act quickly enough, during the 2020 Kenosha riots.

During a campaign stop in Kenosha last week, Republican gubernatorial candidate Tim Michaels was highly critical of Democratic governor Tony Evers response to the 2020 riots in the city.

Now in an editorial in the Kenosha News, former county executive Jim Kreuser says he's setting the record straight. Kreuser writes that the state fulfilled every local request for support including having National Guard troops on the ground within hours.

He says the state authorized additional law enforcement support the first night of unrest. And he says the system for calling up the Guard worked exactly as designed.
