Neillsville School Board Approves Long List of Items in Preparation for the Next School Year

The Neillsville School Board approved a long list of items in preparation for the new school year.

The Board approved the reopening guidelines for the 2022-2023 school year as presented. Also, representatives from Wendel Companies, along with Lance Gregorich from CESA 10 and Building and Grounds Director Mark Spencer, presented a building projects update.

The Board approved the purchase of a chiller from Mark Lisenby in the amount of $10,000, approved the speech and language contract with Professional Speech Therapists, LLC, as presented, and approved the use of space agreement with Clark County Community Services as presented.

The Board also approved curriculum updates as presented, approved the eight regular, one special needs, and two noon bus routes for 2022-2023 as presented, and approved the elementary student handbook with modifications as presented.

The Board also approved the middle school student handbook with modifications as presented, approved the high school student handbook with modifications as presented, and approved the out of state field trip request from FFA to Indianapolis, Indiana on October 25-30, 2022, as presented.

The Board also approved the release of funds to the class of 2022 in the amount of $49, approved the Capstone building project for the 2022-2023 school year as presented, and approved the proposed yearbook prices for 2022-2023 as presented.

The Board also approved the food service meal prices for the 2022- 2023 school year as presented, approved the offer versus serve contract for food service for the 2022-2023 school year as presented, and approved the Wisconsin Morning Milk Program as presented. The Board also approved the Federal Milk Program as presented, and approved the donation of school supplies from Modern Woodman.

In employment matters, the Board approved the resignation of Tina Glassbrenner from her teaching assistant position, the resignation of Shelly Klein from his custodial position, the resignation of Kerry Vance from her support secretary position, the resignation of Amy Gerhardt from her agriculture teaching position, and the resignation of Nicole Abbott from her English teaching position.

The Board approved the hiring of Kristine Anderson as a teaching assistant, Mary Ellen Keller as a teaching assistant, Dawn Murphy as a teaching assistant, Anne Reschke as the Head Food Service Assistant, Rita Sternitzky for the seven-hour food service assistant position, Tammy Martin for the five-hour food service assistant, Amanda Kowalczyk as a support secretary, Chelsea Opelt for the elementary guidance counselor position, Carla Byrne for the agriculture teaching position, and Connie McDonald for the elementary art teaching position.

The Board also approved the updated contract for Josh Zahl as presented. The Board also approved the initial adoption of changes to Policy DLC as presented, the initial adoption of changes to Policy EFF as presented, and the initial adoption of changes to Policy JN as presented.

Administrator John Gaier also reported on the 2022 Fall WASB Regional Meetings and Workshops and a thank you card.
