Curtiss Man Has Dies After Incident Involving a Tractor Tire

Saturday, May 7th, 2022 -- 7:54 AM

A Curtiss man has died after an incident involving a tractor tire in Taylor County.

According to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department, on Thursday, around 11:14am, they received a report of a man trapped underneath a large tractor tire on a farm at W5673 Pine Avenue in the Town of Little Black. When they arrived, they found 51-year-old Eli Mullet had been removed from underneath the tire and had no sign of life. Although life saving measures were attempted, they were unsuccessful.

Authorities stated Mullet was working on a tractor in the machine shed and at some point, the large rear tractor wheel tipped backwards onto him, trapping him. The Medical Examiner’s Office indicates that Mullet passed away from asphyxiation due to injuries he suffered. The sheriff’s office says no foul play is suspected at this time.
