A Dorchester man has been sentenced for possession of child pornography.
According to court records, Ricardo Pena Cruz was arrested after the Clark County Sheriff’s Department received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
They informed the department that, back in May, someone was engaging in a Facebook chat and exchanging files that were flagged as child porongraphy. The Sheriff’s Department obtained a search warrant of Cruz’s home and found multiple electronic devices. Eight photos and eight videos of child pornography were discovered.
Cruz was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, possession of child pornography. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 3 years in state prison and 3 years of extended supervision.
