HENDRICKSON REELECTED BOARD CHAIR

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006 -- 12:00 PM

Audio - 1:08

The head of the Clark County Board remains the same after a close vote Tuesday morning.

There were nine new faces among the 29 supervisors sworn in by Clark County Circuit Court Judge Jon Counsell Tuesday morning - observers say that's the largest turnover they can remember in a non-redistricting year.

One of their first items of business was to elect new leadership, and it didn't take the new board long to create some drama. Wayne Hendrickson of the Town of Unity was nominated to the position, as was Phil Boehning of the Town of Fremont, who is back on the Board after a four-year absence.

By one vote, 15-14, Hendrickson holds on to the title of County Board Chairman.

The Vice Chair will be different. Town of Grant supervisor Fritz Garbisch defeated Loyal-area board member Charles Rueth 17-12 to take that position.

After the elections the board got right to work in electing supervisors to committees.
