Saturday, April 9th, 2022 -- 6:53 AM
The suspect in a standoff Thursday at the Marshfield Walmart parking lot is now identified as Theodore Trahern. He appeared in court Friday, facing charges of ten counts of possession of child pornography and one of resisting arrest.
WAOW-TV reports that according to a criminal complaint, what culminated at the standoff actually began in late January online. A member of the United Kingdom National Crime Agency alerted Marshfield police of conversations from an online profile allegedly linked to Trahern that talked about sexual acts against a child conducted by the user. Upon further investigation, Marshfield police contacted Trahern and searched his truck, finding an iPad and phone that allegedly contained 37 pictures and two videos that depicted child pornography.
Trahern's next court appearance is set for Monday.
