Governor Evers Signs Contract for Work on Bridge Near Greenwood

Thursday, March 24th, 2022 -- 9:01 AM

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Gov. Tony Evers has signed a $530,798 contract with prime contractor Janke General Contractors, Inc., of Athens, WI, for a bridge project on WIS 73 at Giles Creek, in northern Clark County, City of Greenwood in the Town of Warner.

Construction is scheduled to start Monday, March 28. Built in 1980, the bridge is showing signs of deterioration. To address this, WisDOT plans to remove and replace the structure’s deck, reconstruct bridge approaches, and replace guardrail.

During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane over the structure, and traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals. Construction is scheduled for completion in May.

Information regarding this project and others in the Northwest Region can be found at https://projects.511wi.gov/region/northwest/.
