Eau Claire Man Sentenced for His Role in January 6th Insurrection

Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 -- 1:00 PM

(Bob Hague, WRN) A Wisconsin man will serve probation and pay restitution for his role in the January 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Fifty three-year-old Kevin Loftus appeared via teleconference Tuesday in U.S. District Court in D.C. The Eau Claire resident was sentenced to three years of probation on a charge of parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.

He’ll also be required to pay 500 dollars restitution toward the estimated one and a half million dollars in damage done to the Capitol during the January 6 attack. According to a criminal complaint, Loftus was identified using a photograph taken of him in the Capitol.
