Publisher's Clearing House Scam Hitting the Neillsville Area Again

Neillsville residents should be aware of a scam that is going around the area.

We’ve had several calls from city residents that said they’ve received a call from someone claiming to be with Publisher’s Clearing House and they’ve won their contest.

But, in order to claim their prize, they have to pay taxes and fees upfront. Or the scam comes in a letter with a check and the letter states you need to pay advance fees. Then the check bounces and you’re on the hook for the money.

Again, this is a scam. PCH doesn’t call, send emails, or letters in advance stating you won. They come to your home and let you know you’ve won. And you’ll never have to pay money to get it.
