The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released new COVID-19 Community Levels to measure the impact of COVID-19 illness on health and health care systems, with the goal of helping communities and individuals make local decisions.

Community levels are now classified as low (green), medium (yellow), or high (orange). Prevention steps that individuals should take based on the different levels include, for low, medium and high, stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and get tested if you have symptoms.

For medium, if you are at high risk for severe illness, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask and take other precautions.

For high, wear a mask indoors in public, regardless of vaccination status and additional precautions may be needed for people at high risk for severe illness.

The community level noted for Clark County (High, Orange) is reflective of COVID-19 community levels on Thursday, February 24, 2022. CDC community levels will be updated weekly on Thursdays.
