Community Members Speak at Wausau Water Works Commission Meeting
Thursday, February 17th, 2022 -- 10:01 AM
Community members had an opportunity to speak about Wausau’s water issues at a special meeting of the Wausau Water Works Commission on Tuesday.
For the time being, the City of Wausau is working on a pilot study to test different PFAS removal methods. They hope to have a new water treatment facility running by the end of July.
However, some worry that isn’t soon enough. Some residents in attendance had concerns about what can be done on an individual basis as some can’t afford proper in-home filtration systems.
For now, the Commission voted to support the pilot study and will look at other ways municipalities dealt with PFAS chemicals.
